Hey everyone!
As the big day comes nearer, here´s the latest info on how to get there and stuff. Check under “Rider´s Corner”. Scroll down and there you´ll find the Bulletin No2, which replaces No.1 and all information within.
So, No2 is the shit that counts.
Folks, the first riders are confirmed and it looks like this is gonna be one hell of an event. Mike Ketellapper (NL, currently #1 in the world ranking list), Nick Davies (UK, #2), Lior Sofer (ISR #3), Dominic Gührs (GER), Matty DeNittis (AUS), Steffen Vollert (GER), CK Koester (UK), James Young (UK) and Rocco van Straten (NL).
In total we expect almost 200 riders from all over the world, so hold your breath – there will be some more big names coming up!
The teams of Netherland, UK, Israel, Australia and of course Germany will guarantee sport at a top notch level. No questions allowed!
And everybody is anxious to see the confirmation of youngster Fredy van Osten, who beat no one less than Nick Davies in Texas last week and had only to surrender to a brillant Tom Foshee in the finals. So, brace yourself, sit tight and wait for more info coming up.
For the first time since 2001, the IWWF World Cable Championships are going to take place in Germany again. You can be part of the action as well, when the World’s best wakeboarders and wakeskaters come to the Reitbahnlake Neubrandenburg from July 16th to 18th, 2010. Berlin’s local recreation area is about to become the wakeboarding Mekka!
The IWWF (International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation) has been organizing waterski competitions since 1949. Since 2001, the organization has been responsible for the Wakeboarding World Championships as well, and they chose Germany as the place to be for 2010. Germany is the leading country in cable wakeboarding. During the last eight years, German athletes managed to win 41 medals, putting Germany in a clear lead on the medal table, in front of England, Holland, and the USA.
Concentration is key during the week before the finals weekend already, as the national and international elite riders have to qualify for Sunday’s finals. So, July 16th-18th will only see the cream of the crop of the divisions Boys, Girls, Junior Ladies, Junior Men, Masters, Open Ladies and Open Men ripping the lake in Neubrandenburg at the IWWF Wakeboard Worlds 2010!
What’s up everyone! Welcome on the official page of the IWWF Wakeboard Cable World Championships 2010! These pages should contain all the information you might need regarding the best weekend of 2010, and then some. If you’re missing infos, please drop us a line!
Come July 16th to 18th, the Reitbahnsee in Neubrandenburg will turn into the centre of the wakeboarding and wakeskating world, when the various international federations send their qualifiers to northern Germany, to compete in the categories Boys, Girls, Junior Ladies, Junior Men, Masters, Open Ladies, and Open Men. However, it’s not all wakeboarding and wakeskating. When darkness falls it might get difficult to ride, so we thought we’d throw a party, or two, as well. And just so no one has to walk too far, there’s camping possibilities right next to the event site as well.
So: Wakeboarding, wakeskating, some interesting framework programme, and camping. As mentioned: The best weekend of the year! Want to be up to date? Check back here frequently, follow us, or become a fan:
